Metaphor of Life 23

About the Artwork

Metaphor of Life 23 is a contemporary abstract painting that explores the restless yet beautiful rhythm of urban existence. Through layered forms, expressive marks and a richly textured surface, Apurva Singh reflects on the contradictions of contemporary life—its chaos and silence, struggles and aspirations, fragmentation and unity.

The composition brings together interconnected fragments that suggest fleeting thoughts, memories and experiences. Forms appear to emerge, overlap and dissolve, reflecting the constantly changing nature of human perception and lived experience.

Rather than presenting a single narrative, the artwork invites viewers to move through its layers and discover their own associations and interpretations. The interplay of colour, texture and expressive mark-making creates a sense of movement while maintaining moments of pause and reflection.

At its core, Metaphor of Life 23 reflects life as an evolving journey in which individual experiences remain fragmented yet interconnected. The work combines mixed-media processes with contemporary abstraction to create a reflective visual experience.
